Ep.28

NFL Pro Bowl. A more unorganized event could not exist. But at least we got some nice (and expensive) gear....

And these ponchos with the 1970's artwork.

It was an ok day for the most part. 14 hour shift.
Here's to hoping Super Bowl is easier.

Ep.27

Ready for those Spring showers.
Gotta love Target.

Ep.26

This is what I normally wake up to,
after my alarm of course.Stayed home today to do a lot of nothing.
The house was silently still for all of about 15 minutes.
At least that's the amount of time I was actually awake to blissfully enjoy.

Looks like its another night in seeing as most of my clothes is damp since the dryer decided to break today, and well, I'm not in much of a mood to go out clubbing anyway.

I think I may just give myself a mani/pedi.

Ep.25

I wish I could drive home after class everyday
instead of heading to work.
But I gotta strive for the things I want.
And in my case, striving consists of working.

My day will come...

...eventually.

Ep.24

These last two days almost seem to have merged into one.
Another Board meeting done and gone.
Work is taking its toll on me....
And then there's school.

Tuesday, January 26, 2010

Ep.23

To say I'm exhausted would only belittle
the throbbing pain in my feet,
Undermine the ache in each of my back and neck bones,
and fill the empty spaces in my head that
have been slowly drained from me
during the long hours of the day.

I'm pooped.
And I still have to study.

Ep.22

One day my enemy will be my favorite companion.

Sunday, January 24, 2010

Ep.21

This can't be good.

Saturday, January 23, 2010

Ep.20

Such a familiar road... yet unfamiliar to me at first sight.

Foggy evening/morning.
It was fitting.

-I don't care to know.
--Cause you know.
-Of course I know. I've been here before.

Ep.19

KC is sweet when she wants to be.

I decided today, whenever I may feel a bit more creative, I will attempt the Hemingway challenge.
Short story. 6 words (or less)

Hemingway's self proclaimed masterpiece goes like this:
"For sale: Baby shoes, never worn."

Brilliant!

In the car on the way out now. Don't know where exactly the night will take me, but at least I'll be out.

Thursday, January 21, 2010

Ep.... I lose count already. 18

I took a bite out of the Big Apple today.
Hopefully soon, it'll be the real thing.

A sugar cookie is a sugar cookie no matter where its from.
Ok, maybe not exactly, but this one didn't taste all that special.

FINANCIAL AID MONEY IS COMING IN!!!!
If I wasn't in so much debt, I'd do sooo much more with it.
But for now, I'm planning to pay off most of my things and catch up on other payments.
Then, income tax return money will go off to my vacation. I need one!
VEGAS!!!
Oh Yes!

I guess being broke in 09 pays off in 2010.
Let me not count my chickens before my eggs hatch.
But golly gosh I'm excited.

Whoever said money can't buy happiness obviously wasn't a 22 year old student, working nearly full time without benefits and in debt.

2010 better be all that it's made out to be!

Ep.17

Lucy, although she is the only guest in this house that actually knocks before coming in, escapes her home and comes to hang out here.

I guess dogs are attracted to the honey too.

Tuesday, January 19, 2010

Ep.16

I may be heading nowhere.
I could be just wasting time.
But it doesn't matter,
Someday I'll get there...
One day I'll fly..
But for now, I'll just enjoy the ride.

Monday, January 18, 2010

Ep.15

I probably should say goodbye to these, to chocolate all together, but this is my favorite kind of rainbow.
And they came all the way from Times Square.

I got a tiny piece of the big apple today.Juanito came home from his trip to New York and I just can't wait to be able to hop on a plane and go.

"Some folks like to get away
Take a holiday from the neighborhood
Hop a flight to Miami Beach
Or to Hollywood
But I'm taking a Greyhound
On the Hudson River Line
I'm in a New York state of mind"

Ep.14

Went to a party with a NYE ball drop, sparklers and fireworks. All in a duplex townhome.
Only in Miami.Sitting now listening to ignorant morons over XBox live. Apparently any Spanish speaking individual is a Mexican and that should be offensive if I'm Mexican. It's insulting that they are so dumb, but incredibly hilarious.

Ep.13

I'm a little behind on my updates but that's because the eventful stuff happens between the hours of 10pm-6am the next day. So as I mentioned, the dates will be post-dated to reflect on the day the events occurred.

A few minutes after my last post, Gaby text me and told me that our plans of going to Mansion once she got out of work were canceled. Instead, she was given a comp room (again!) at the Hard Rock for her birthday.
I must say, it felt a bit odd to be there without everyone who had made an appearance last year.
Not to mention how much things have changed over the last year.
None the less, it was definitely fun. Especially the free part. This time, it included room service....As a midnight snack (twice)...

And for breakfast!

Later, Gaby had a party at Shiso on the beach.
Turned out pretty cool.
Ended kind of dramatic for her, but I think she still managed to have a hella good time.

Ep.12

Sometimes I feel so smallI genuinely wish there was something I could do.
Lend a physical hand, shed some hope, some comfort, some love.

Every little bit counts, I know.
But I wish there were more bits.

Thursday, January 14, 2010

Ep.11

I'm on about 2 hours of sleep...

& the 15 minutes I slept in my car before going into work after class.

I'm running on E. It's been that way all week.
It was only appropriate to stop for gas this morning.
Although it didn't do much. I think I'm on empty again.
oil spill across the morning sky

Ep.10

I don't know what deafening silence sounds like.
I wish I did.
Even as I make a long drive home, there is far too much on my mind to enjoy the little silence I'm ever exposed to.
Then there's the rattle of the wheel, the vibration of the dash, the jingle of the change in the console.
And all the anxiety that simmers as I reflect on this exact moment last year.

I raced home. I wanted to get home to where I feel safe.
Peaceful.
Not quite.
Too many people. Too much noise. Too many things to do. Too little time.

I just want to sleep.
Sleep and silence.
Utter silence.

Ep.9

When I left my house this morning, the sky was just as it was as I made my way back, only in reverse.
I think I've been awake too long.

I've planned almost to it's entirety, a Spring Break vacation.
I've looked up flights, hotels, and even some things to do in Vegas, NYC, and DC.

Then I thought about everything and realized that spending $500, although cheap, isn't a good idea right now.

I have to get my priorities straight.
Ahh, but a vacation sounds sooooo nice.

Maybe it's true what they say,
You can have whatever you want if you really want it....

But you have to really want it.

Still, prioritizing.

Ep.8

Kendall hit record lows this morning way before most of us were up. 29 I believe with a wind shield of 19. Tooooo cold!

This is as about as close as to snow Miami is gonna see. This pic isn't mine unfortunately. I didn't have time to take a picture of the "snow" on my windshield this morning before Dad took Danny to school. Hopefully, tomorrow I can get a picture of my own. Doubt it thoughThe white part on the roof is the ice that had yet to melt because the sun hadn't gotten to it yet.Maybe next year we'll see some snow. Although I'm almost sure that won't be a good thing.
But I'll sacrifice a few months without OJ and strawberries for a snow day.
Don't think the economy would agree with me though.

Sunday, January 10, 2010

Ep.7

It's been far too cold for Miami.
In fact, last night the car maked 36 degrees.
I went to sleep in a hoody, hood up and all, just to keep warm.
Today the average temperature ranged in the mid 40's.
I don't remember ever having such cold weather for this long. I think it's record breaking.
I may be wrong.Churros and hot chocolate helped make a lazy Sunday all the more blissful.

Saturday, January 9, 2010

Ep.6

On my way to party @ Play with Juanito.
It's freezing outside.
Kept warm earlier today by staying in.
But I decided to play dress up with my winter gear...
And having cinnabons. :)
Because at times we just need some frosting.

Ep.5

For the sake of having a post a day (an actual 12am-11:59 pm day) I will post the current day's (my day, meaning from whatever time I wake up til I go back to sleep) posts at 11:59pm, although right now it's 1:50am and technically it's Saturday and not Friday anymore. Whatever. It's all the same to me.
I'm the baddest DJ you'll ever meet!
no really, I'm bad. Can barely make 3 stars on DJ Hero.

Note to self: Shout vs Pjanoo is a download must. That is, if I can find it.

Thursday, January 7, 2010

Ep.4

Clouds dipped in the blue of the ocean,
embraced in the petals of the earth
and kissed by the lips of the sun.

I think the cold air makes for a spectacular sunrise and sunset.
I'm sure it has something to do with it.

Danny turns 17I remember turning 17.
I wish I were 17.

And in a few years I'll be wishing for 22 again.
Better make the best of it.

Wednesday, January 6, 2010

Ep.3

Writing this from my Blackberry.
Downloaded Opera Mini,
a better, faster (stronger?!) browser for smart phones.
It isn't letting me upload the picture though,
so I'll edit tomorrow.

Just another Wednesday.
Start of homework season.
I didn't miss this part of the gig.

Tuesday, January 5, 2010

Ep.2

The only time they fly high is when the less fortunate have completely fallen.
Like the vultures in the sky...

Day 1 back to school.
Excruciating long day, running around like a crazy lady, crazy like my World Economy prof.
Another cold day in Miami,
and another day (half day) at the stadium.
Parking Ninja.

Have you ever driven somewhere and as you arrive at your destination you realize you're not exactly sure how you got there?
Don't remember passing that Arby's, or that gas station.
Shit, I don't think I did anything illegal. Hopefully not.
Thought consumption is probably just as dangerous as alcohol.

My first class this morning was alright. Don't know why it never occurred to neither Joanna or myself to ask one another what class it is that would have us driving all the way to the Biscayne campus so early in the morning. Turns out, it's the same one.
Professor seems like a stand-up kinda guy. Has some jokes too.
8am though, and I don't find them funny.
He also has a horrible attendance policy.
Mandatory and punctual presence sucks.
Being marked absent a minute after 8:05 really sucks.
Group projects really really suck!!

Going back to the crazy professor reference up there,
the old lady apparently thinks that the creation of the earth billions and billions of years ago, along with the universe and the fact that Pluto is no longer a star and the moon was discovered to hold water all have to deal with the study of World Economy.
Don't ask me how, I'm not sure if come April I'll have figured it out yet.
Don't know why she finds all those factors funny either, but I'm guessing her awkward moments of laughter between her lectures will be what keeps me awake in that class.

Ep.1

I've missed blogging. Yesterday I came across a friend's blog and was motivated to get back into it. Paid a little visit to my livejournal account today and decided it would be better if I let that one be. So here I am now. It seems simple enough, and it's perfect to start Project 365, or whatever it's called.

Here's my first go at it.

Mom's Birthday today. Almost half a century old.
My camera has been acting up recently. It takes odd pictures at times.

Not a very complementing picture,
but it's us, and it's something to show for in a year.
